Don't rush your life, what exactly are you trying to prove, and to who? Live at your own pace, appreciate the moment, and stop measuring your life by the years you have been around, put more life–– in your years, more sincerity in your actions, and more love in yourself. It is not a race, it is not a competition, the journey is the destination, this moment is what matters. Stop reminiscing on the past, stop worrying about your future, and be aware of yourself, your surroundings, your mind and your life, right now, because this… is it. The only reason you will have regrets, and say that life passed you by, is if you stand still, while everything blurs around you, be the centre of your universe, you are the leading man/ woman of your life, do not act like an extra, take charge, grab onto what you want, learn from your mistakes, let others learn from yours.

Do not fear age, we start to grow from inception, this is the most beautiful part of life. Many times we think to ourselves… "wow i wish i was this or that age again" but really, if you were that age again, you would do the same thing, you are thinking that thought as an older you, and unless you were already older, while being younger again, you wouldn't appreciate it, know what to do with it, or enjoy it. It was, and that is that, this is what is, and you are missing it, wondering about how things could have been, would have been… if only…The same way we crave to be older when we are little, it is just a coveting of what we don't have, wouldn't it be easier if we wanted to be young, when we were young, and older when we were older? Lets do that.

A trillion different things could have occurred for you and to you, but the truth of the matter is, none of that is important, what matters is right now, you can't go back, you can't skip forward, you have to watch this scene, this shot, perhaps there are a few issues, a few scratches along the way, a few freeze-frames and missing pixels every now and then, and yeah it may be hard to see the way out, and hard to focus, but everything sorts itself out in the end, and if it hasn't, then it isn't the end.

You determine your age, it is all up to you. The media makes ageing such a bad thing, now just because people look better over 50 then they used to, people are less judgemental, but it has nothing to do with that. You are not your age, you are you, and that is the extent of it. Time is self -inflicted, WE measure our life in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years, we give these ambiguous moments, names and length, we give it all the meaning it has, we are just too affected by society to notice, we still have a choice in our perception of time.  What if we just knew it was day and night, and that is all? wouldn't that be freedom? WE judge ourselves, and compare ourselves to others, because of our own acceptance of how "modern society" works. Everyone who is younger than you, is growing at the same pace as you, we are all growing at the same time, together, we are all getting older, who said we ever have to be old? old to one person is young to another, there is always someone younger and older than you, and you compare yourselves to everyone–– and on top of all this, we add milestones to our lives. What we should do by the time we are a certain age, then we feel unsuccessful if we don't have it in time, and some people even give up on what they want, and what they were born to do, just because they think it is too late, too late… a pathetic phrase, it is never too late, you know when it's too late? when you are dead, and even then, it is just a new beginning. End and beginning are synonymous, as are everything and nothing.

Now you are here, and that is enough, doesn't matter for how long, or what you are doing, or what others think of you. Live your life on your terms at all times, forget stupid specifications and the incessant need to categorise everything and always focus on our differences, like race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs…why do we focus on things we can't agree on? It is a way to control us, and keep us busy and stagnant while things are deteriorating around us. "Why don't you all fight, while I build a giant mall around you? then we can sell you things, that you don't need, to impress people you don't know, to create relationships you don't want, and love people you don't understand, and buy them stuff, to show them you care"

Don't be fooled by whats around you, it is all an illusion. Live your life, do not let anyone else take that from you.

"Stop reminiscing on the past, stop worrying about your future, and be aware of yourself" - So many philosophers / sages would be pleased with that comment as it is reminiscent of "Know Thyself"

Age is only relative in the context of birth and death i.e the older you get the closer you are to death. Otherwise it is pretty irrelevant in my book.

I agree with a lot of what you have written, however... society does indeed dictate the considered normalities, however it is the personal Ego that holds hands with it. To me the problem is not society but Ego. With a diminished Ego people would not be much interested in social norms.
