A man walked up to me and asked me for a cigarette… I told him I didn't smoke anymore, and he asked me why? ––I answered "because the person I used to smoke with, isn't around anymore", and he replied…"that's why I smoke."
A woman walked up to me and asked me for drugs, I replied "I have several in store…his eyes, his smile, his hands"…she whispered, "that's not a drug"…and I laughed as I said.. "if only you knew."
A child walked up to me today and asked me to play a game, I told them I was too tired to play games, i'd been playing for years, they replied…"then you must be a pro!", to which I said "yes…a pro at losing."
An old woman stared at me today, and I asked her…"is something wrong?" she answered "I was about to ask you the same question."

this is so freakin cool !! It has this mysterious feel and like coincidence or something i can't explain... its so original I love the ending! Beautiful job rocio! I hope you are doing well !miss you !
Ohh thank you I appreciate that. I'm doing very well, thank you. Hope you're top notch! I'll check out some of your work, it's been ages xx
Oh my God, so beautiful and true !!
Oh thank youu x
me too hehe x
All of this piece is perfect.
Great poem. I really like the end especially.
This is deep, I love it.
Wow, thats deep.. really nice, and i loved the ending line. It really got to me!
Nice work. When I read the first line, I was sure she had loved someone who passed away. But the idea of all of them is to show she had been in a heartbreaking relationship.
yeah, thank u for reading Malcolm! hope u r well x
I absolutely love this. I love how the elderly woman is the one that recognizes there's something wrong simply by looking at the speaker.
there's an emotion this makes me feel, but I can't seem to put my finger on it.
A few people have said that, and I think it's the same thing I was feeling when I wrote it! thanks xx
The old woman is the only one who seems to be reaching out to the speaker - everyone else is focused on their smoking/drugs/games. Was that part of the point?
mm not really.. everyone was interacting with the speaker in some way, and all the speakers responses were explaining what was going on in the speakers mind.. at the start she was reminded of someone she used to smoke with who isn't around… so we know there has been a breakup most likely..then she's asked for drugs, which is a way of saying she was addicted to that person in someway, then being asked to play and answering that she'd been playing for too long implies she was played around with, or had lost…and then the lady is just observing the speaker.. because obviously something is wrong..
>< does that make sense?
thanks for reading xx
I really loved that. I can't quite find the right word for how this made me feel but if definitely made me feel something as I read it ^.^
>< awesome…that's pretty much my goal when I write.. thank you so much for reading me x
This is just so beautiful I loves it ^_^
Made me think.
Touching. I love the way you wrote it, too.
